Hello! When you open, I will be ordering shoes. I just had a question: Do we have to submit a picture of what we want of just tell you? Will you give us a sketch before painting in case we didn't like it? (I mean come on, how is that possible!) I was just wondering so I can plan accordingly.

Screencaps/pictures of what you want are definitely recommended. If you don’t provide any and just give me a description, I’ll find screencaps myself and send them to you to get your approval. And yes, if wanted, I can send pictures of the sketch on the shoe before I start painting and will make adjustments if need be. :)

Any. Of course, the smaller the shoe would mean the more basic the design. But as long as that’s understood, I’m okay with infant sized!

I had a question in regards to the designs you're willing to do. I've been wanting customized shoes for the longest time and I have a fairly broad request for the design. If I gave you a list of Disney characters, would you be willing to take artistic license and design them however you like, as long as those characters are on them?

It would depend on the style of shoe how many characters you would want, since there would only be so much space, but I think that’d be do-able!

In order to give a price estimate, I’d need a little more information than that. What do you consider a “nice” background? And would you only want Jim, just on one shoe? All that stuff. :)

I really try to keep my shoes at the cheapest price possible, so they’re more affordable for everyone.

Would you still make someone pay for shipping even if they lived in Southern California? Or do you not feel comfortable enough with meeting to take/give back shoes?

It depends. If it’s possible to meet at Disneyland/Downtown Disney or something, I’m totally fine with it. Other locations would depend. :)

When commissioning you, do the customers get to see your work in progress, how does the whole description thing work so that you get the full scope of what they want? I'm not very good as a commissioner so I want to gain full insight into you as an artist for when you open back up.

Depends on if they want to see work in progress pictures - I usually instagram them and post them to my personal, and there’s a little section on my art blog for WIP shoe pictures (though it appears to be missing some pics…). :)

The whole description thing works as specific as you want. For example, Hayley’s Peter Pan shoes had full, photoshopped mock-ups included. But when Brooke requested her Beauty and the Beast shoes, she just asked for Belle and the Enchanted Rose, with plain sides.

Mock-ups are, of course, easier to follow. And even just saying “Belle and the Enchanted Rose” was specific enough to go off of since there are so few scenes of them together. That being said though, I do love getting sent references. If not, I just find my own references and get them OK-ed by the customer just to be safe.

I'm considering ordering once you open back up and I kind of know what I want, I just was curious on a rough estimate price-wise. I was thinking like a silhouette of Peter, Wendy, John and Michael flying to Neverland and both shoes looking the same. You're one of the cheaper people that paints shoes that I've come across and your work is really good as well. (:

how are you handling costumers not pleased with the design they recieve? for example, in that last answer you said that you're "always willing to try." so if you were to attempt a design of something you werent familiar with, but then it didnt turn out so well, how would you handle that?

That is an excellent question.

If I wasn’t content with it during the sketch process though in a sense like I knew it wouldn’t turn out well once I got to painting, I’d probably communicate with the customer and let them know then. I’d erase/send them back or whatever. I wouldn’t want to continue with them knowing I didn’t like how they turned out, you know? I figure I’m going to by my biggest critic and if I’m not happy with them, I’d work something out with the customer.

If someone receives them and doesn’t like them, I’d definitely refund them for at least the shipping and the artwork. I’d offer to even pay for them to be sent back and I’d just paint them white again or something. I would hate for a customer to be unhappy. But it’ll really be more of a cross-that-bridge-when-we-get-to-it sort of thing, because I hope that never happens.

I’d definitely prefer to do Marvel rather than Harry Potter, just since Marvel would be fairly easy in cartoon form and Harry Potter is more live action and I don’t know how well I’d do with that.

But, like I’ve said before, always willing to try!

Would you be able to do shoes that had multiple themes? Like, if I wanted to put a few obessions in a collage type thing on each shoe?
